From June 1 to 13, The Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, will launch their Rocky Mountain Legends Online Auction, in partnership with Levis Fine Art Auctions and Appraisals in Calgary.
The auction is in honour of the museum's late founder Catharine Robb Whyte, whose 115 birthday is June 13.
The auction contains more than 160 lots ranging from art pieces, objects and experiences. Some art pieces include works by Frederic Marlett Bell-Smith and Glyde, Walter J. Phillips, while experiences include a trip to Skoki Lodge and a Canadian Mountain Holidays (CMH) Summer Adventure. Other experiences like a dinner with legendary Rockies mountaineer Chic Scott and a climbing lesson with Sharon Wood – the first North American woman to climb Mt. Everest – are unique opportunities.
All of the proceeds will be used to increase the Whyte’s Indigenous programming and help to create better access to their digital collections
