The first weekend in May

Plogging in the rain!

Happy almost May!

We all know the saying typically goes something like “April snow showers bring May flowers” or is that “May rain showers?” So hard to remember in Alberta! But we do know water is good for this dry place and there are plenty are fun things to do in the rain, like “plogging” – something we think is the best activity this weekend – spring cleaning with our friends at Strides Canmore.

Plogging is the super cool combo of jogging and picking up trash. If you don’t like to jog, you can always just walk or hike. Yes, many of us actually “plogg'' everyday because we stop to pick up trash, however, organized plogging is something for the whole family! Check out how to plogg this weekend with Strides.

And, if you need a refresher on how to be “bear aware” this spring, we suggest checking out our chat with Jay Honeyman, human wildlife conflict biologist with Alberta Environment and Parks.

Have a great weekend everyone! Stay safe and have fun! xoxo 51° North
